HRStop allows administrators to trigger appraisals for multiple employees at once using a CSV file, instead of triggering each appraisal individually. This is useful during annual appraisal cycles when salary revisions need to be applied across a large group of employees.
Before You Begin
Before triggering appraisals in bulk, ensure the following:
- Each employee included in the file has a salary template assigned in HRStop Payroll
- Each employee's salary is updated against their assigned salary template
Navigation Path: Control Panel → Payroll → Appraisals → Trigger Appraisal → Import
Import Formats
HRStop provides two CSV formats for bulk appraisal import, depending on how the salary revision needs to be applied.
- Component Wise Appraisal Import use this format to update individual salary component values for each employee. The file includes columns for Employee Code, Email ID, Employee Name, Effective Date, and individual salary component values.
- CTC Based Appraisal Import use this format to revise an employee's salary based on a CTC value. The system calculates individual component values automatically based on the salary template assigned to each employee. The file includes columns for Employee Code, Email ID, Fixed, Variable, CTC, Effective Date, and New Salary Template Name.

Where It Reflects
Once uploaded, an appraisal entry is created for each employee included in the file. These entries appear on the Appraisals list page with a status of Triggered. The employee's salary is revised only after the appraisal is published. Refer to: Managing Appraisals
Important Notes
- Only users with authorised payroll administrative access can trigger appraisals in bulk.
- Each employee included in the file must have a salary template assigned and salary configured before the appraisal can be triggered.
- Triggering appraisals in bulk does not immediately revise employee salaries the appraisals must be published for the salary revision to take effect.
- To trigger an appraisal for an individual employee instead, refer to: Triggering an Appraisal
