Managing Appraisals

Once an appraisal is triggered, it must be published for the revised salary to take effect. HRStop allows administrators to publish, unpublish, or delete appraisals directly from the Appraisals list page, either individually or in bulk.

Navigation Path: Control Panel → Payroll → Appraisals

Publishing an Appraisal

Publishing an appraisal applies the revised salary to the employee's payroll, effective from the selected appraisal date.

Publishing a Single Appraisal
  1. Navigate to the Appraisals page.
  2. Locate the appraisal record for the required employee.
  3. Click the Publish icon against the record.
Publishing Appraisals in Bulk
  1. Navigate to the Appraisals page.
  2. Select the checkboxes against the required employee records.
  3. Click Actions and select Publish.
Unpublishing an Appraisal

Unpublishing a previously published appraisal rolls back the salary revision, reverting the employee's salary to its previous state.

  1. Navigate to the Appraisals page.
  2. Locate the published appraisal record for the required employee.
  3. Click the Unpublish icon against the record.
Deleting an Appraisal

Deleting an appraisal permanently removes the appraisal record from the system.

  1. Navigate to the Appraisals page.
  2. Locate the appraisal record to be removed.
  3. Click the Delete icon against the record.
  4. Confirm the deletion.
Where It Reflects

Publishing an appraisal updates the employee's salary in payroll from the effective date selected during triggering. Unpublishing reverts this change. Deleting an appraisal removes the record entirely and has no effect on payroll if the appraisal was not published.

Important Notes
  • Only users with authorised payroll administrative access can publish, unpublish, or delete appraisals.
  • An appraisal must be published for the salary revision to reflect in the employee's payroll.
  • Unpublishing an appraisal rolls back the salary revision but does not delete the appraisal record.
  • Deleting an appraisal is permanent and cannot be undone.
  • If arrears have already been calculated and submitted for an appraisal, review the impact carefully before unpublishing or deleting the appraisal.
  • Once an appraisal is published, an increment or appraisal letter reflecting the revised salary can be generated using the Document Templates module. Refer to: Salary Placeholders in Document Templates using HRStop Payroll Data
