HawkHR enables admin to configure and manage payroll settings of the company. Various options are given to customize the system according to the needs of the admin. Payroll is one of the vast category that need configured properly as it is responsible for most of significant actions in the corporate, thus the system has divided the settings options into the following categories:

Refer to the following steps to configure the payroll settings:
Navigate to: Control Panel -> Settings -> Payroll, a new page opens up showing fields to configure the settings under the category of Basic
Select the Financial Year, this is the period used for all accounting purposes. Starting month is when the company's financial year will start.
Select the Payroll Run Date, the system payroll would run on selected date and will generate payslips for the previous month.
Enabling Allow user to select dates in different month option will allow a user to run payroll for dates falling in two months. It should be used when the payroll dates span across two months. E.g. Sep 25 to Oct 24.
Enabling Allow user to select attendance period in different month option will allows a user to run payroll for attendance dates falling in two months. It should be used when the attendance dates span across two months. E.g. Attendance period would be Sep 25 to Oct 24 for Oct payroll.
Select the Payroll Start Date, this is the day when payroll is processed
Select the LOP Start Date, LOPs of the selected month will be calculated on after this date
Select the Pay day Calculation Method, payroll will be processed on the basis of selected method
Select the Base Days/ Working Days Calculation Period (Attendance Period/ Payroll Period). Base days are the total number of days on which payroll/ attendance is processed (usually denotes number of day in a month), while working days are the days on which the employee is actually present. Base days in a month and working days of employee will be based on the selected calculation period.
In case you want to mention the payroll based days, select the option of Payroll based days and enter the value
In case you want to deduct the salary of employee if he/ she is absent in the payroll period, select the option of Deduct Salary For Absent Days
In case you want to allow to run the payroll for inactive employees, select the option of Allow inactive employees in run payroll
Select the Full And Final Calculation Method (Based on days/ Based on Months)
Select the option for Round Off (Standard/ Floor/ Ceiling/ No Roundoff)
In order to round off the all pay component amount in payslip, select Round off every component in payslip
In order to round off the net salary in payslip, select Round off net salary in payslip (also enter the round off value)
In order to round off the PF in payslip, select Round off PF
In order to round off the ESIC in payslip, select Round off ESIC
Select the option for Tax Calculation (Calculate on components full value/ Calculate on components actual value)
In order to club the primary component and the components are append with _Arrears, select Club primary and arrear components for income tax computation (e.g Special Allowance_Arrears will also be clubbed with Special Allowance in income tax computation)
In order to allow LTA exemption more than the LTA salary in income tax computation if LTA approved amount in investment declaration is more than the LTA salary, select Allow LTA exemption more than the LTA salary in income tax computation
Select the option for HRA Calculation (HRA Calculation monthly/ HRA calculation annually) (click on more)
Enter the Bank Advice Format details (Customer id, Account number)
Mark the option for Appraisal
Select the Payroll Cycle
Select the Hours Calculation Type
Enter the Federal Tax Identification Number
Enter the Default Hours Per Week
