Award Category – Creation and Assignment

Purpose

The Awards Module allows organizations to recognize and celebrate employees through structured or ad-hoc award programs. Categories define the nature, frequency, and visibility of each award. You can also enable nominations, voting, evaluation forms, and point rewards.


Steps to Create an Award Category

  1. Navigate to: Control Panel → Engagement → Awards
  2. Click Award Categories
  3. Click + Add to create a new award

Fill in the Award Category Details

FieldDescription
TitleName of the award (e.g., “Employee of the Month”, “Star Performer”)
FrequencyChoose one:
  • Monthly – recurring
  • Annual – for year-end recognition
  • Ad-hoc – flexible, on-demand |
    | Mode | Select one:
  • Manual – HR/admin triggers all actions
  • Automatic – system selects winner(s) based on rules (if configured) |
    | Wall of Fame | Enable this to display the winner's name/photo in a visible leaderboard |
    | Nominations | Enable to allow peers or managers to nominate employees |
    | Voting | Enable to open voting for selected participants |
    | Evaluation Form | Optional. Link a Custom Form for structured evaluation by panel/jury |
    | Reward Points | Set point values for:
  • Being Nominated
  • Winning the Award
  • Participating in Voting |

Click Save to create the award category.


Steps to Assign an Award Category

Once the category is created, you can assign and launch it:

  1. Go to: Control Panel -> Engagement → Awards → Assign Award Category
  2. Select the desired award category
  3. Fill in assignment details:

Winner AnnouncementSchedule winner announcement date
Upload Supporting FilesAdd banner, award policy, branding image (optional)
  1. Click Publish to go live

Employees will be notified of:

  • Nominations opening
  • Voting window (if applicable)
  • Results and recognitions

Award Analytics

Admins can track:

  • Number of nominations
  • Participation rate in voting
  • Award winners
  • Engagement by department

Best Practices

  • Pair Awards with Reward Points to drive participation
  • Enable Wall of Fame to showcase recognitions
  • Use Evaluation Forms for fair panel-based awards
  • Run monthly or quarterly recognition cycles to maintain motivation
