Managing Payroll Dates That Span Two Calendar Months

Dec 10, 2024

Managing payroll across two months can be a challenging task, especially in large organizations. HRStop simplifies this process with the "Two-Month Attendance and Payroll" configuration feature, allowing payroll and attendance tracking across custom date ranges.

Purpose of the Feature

This setting is useful when:

  • Your payroll cycle spans two calendar months (e.g., 25th Jan to 24th Feb).
  • Your attendance tracking also follows a non-standard cycle (e.g., 25th Sept to 24th Oct).

Steps to Configure Two-Month Attendance & Payroll

  1. Navigate to Payroll Settings
Go to: Control Panel → Settings → Payroll
  2. Enable Two-Month Configuration Options
On this page, you’ll see two checkboxes under payroll settings: i. Run payroll for dates falling in two months
    • Enable this if your payroll period spans across two months.
    • After enabling, set the custom Payroll Start Date (e.g., 25th of the month).
ii. Run payroll for attendance dates falling in two months
    • Enable this if attendance needs to be calculated from a different two-month cycle.
    • After enabling, set the custom LOP (Loss of Pay) Start Date (e.g., 25th of the month).
  3. Save the Configuration
Click on "Update Details" to save your changes.

Outcome

Once configured:

  • Payroll and attendance calculations will align with your selected two-month cycle.
  • Admins and reporting managers can track and process attendance more accurately.

Note: Only one payroll rule can be active at a time, so make sure to review your settings before updating.

This setup provides flexibility in managing varied payroll structures, ensuring smoother payroll runs and attendance accuracy.
